FAQs – Navigating the Online Course Platform

You've bought a Jade Lady on Demand course or have access to a Class Resources page – how do you get in and how does it all work?

The first step is to log in. Click on the orange button at the right of the menu bar.

You’ll be taken to the window shown below. Enter your email and password and click Login. If you’ve forgotten your password click on ‘Reset it’ below the grey Login button.
If you click 'Reset it' you’ll be taken to the screen below where you can enter your email and will be sent instructions to reset your password.
Once logged in you’ll see your initials to the right of the menu bar and just beside them is the word ‘Products’. Click here to find your courses, posters and class resources.

The courses you have access to are listed under ‘My products’ along with a completion marker. More on that in a moment.

To the right of ‘My products’ is ‘More products’. This is an easy-access list of other available products that you might like to try next.

Once you click into a course you’ll see a screen like the one below. The menu showing the course contents runs down the left of the screen and the video or documents for download will show on the right. The contents of each video are listed below the video. You can watch the videos in the video player as is, but bigger is better and there are a couple of options here.
Notice the two arrows in the top right of the screen. Click these and the video player will expand to fill the browser window.
Notice that the menu on the left of the screen disappears once you click these arrows. To get back to the previous screen click the two arrows again.
There are other options to go bigger again however. See on the bottom right of the window there are a range of icons including the settings cog, YouTube, streaming options and a broken square icon. Click on the square to go full screen. Notice that the square icon changes to have the corners reversed inwards. Click here again to get out of full screen. You may be able to click on escape on your keyboard to achieve the same thing. These screen shots are taken on an iPad.
Back to course contents: The menu at the left shows you the resources you have available and these are different for each course. The image below shows the Mawangdui Daoyin Qigong course and you can see there is one PDF to download and the rest are videos with a cloud icon. At the top left you can see a completion wheel showing 0/15 completed.
Looking at the Sword Club Resources page below, you can see I’ve downloaded the top 3 documents and have clicked the ‘Complete’ button. This brings up a tick at the left of the menu. You do not have to do this, but it’s a handy way to keep track of what you’ve done, especially if you have a break and forget what you’re up to. You can watch the videos in any order and download the documents at any time.
After watching a video you can click the ‘Complete’ button under it and the cloud icon will change to a tick. Again, you don’t have to do this, but it’s a good way to keep track of where you’re up to. You can rewatch the videos as many times as you like. Clicking the ‘Complete’ button does not change this. You can click on the arrows to move forward or backward to the next or previous sections but can also navigate from the menu on the left.

Downloading documents

Downloading documents is easy, but can you find them again? That’s the hard part! On your desktop or laptop the PDFs will probably go straight to your downloads folder. From there you should move them somewhere logical like a folder set up with the name of the course.

For an iPad, here are some screenshots for what to expect. Below I’ve clicked on the 10 Important Points document to download it. The download button then pops up and is very small text at the bottom of the screen so it helps to know where to look.

When you click on the Download text a popup window then displays a range of options. I’d suggest tapping ‘Save to Files’.
Then another popup window will appear asking you specifically where to put the file. I set up a folder called JLonDemand and the screenshot below shows the folder under the Recently Used location. You can choose whether this folder is stored on your iPad or iCloud Drive or other options.
Then to find the file again, look for the Files icon on your iPad. It’ll be there somewhere.
Once you’ve got your documents downloaded and know where to find them, read them! You can open them in Books too, which is pretty cool.
