This is a quickie to introduce my most recent warm up. I designed this one to prepare the body for the Five Animals Qigong Wu Qin Xi. As mentioned in my previous post, this qigong form challenges the body to move in ways that it is most likely not used to. We don't normally sway like bears or lift paws like monkeys (although I'd argue that we should!) This session loosens up all of the major joints and muscles with extra attention to stretching the hamstrings and the muscles of the hands. I finish with some self massage techniques to help loosen the shoulders and neck, and release tension from the head and face.
